EDUCATION
Education is immensely important in community development. It is pivotal in breaking the cycle of poverty. GUD focuses on education in the traditional sense but also across all of our sectors i.e. Health Education efforts and Environmental Education.
Education Goals
Our education sector will provide in-class and hands on experience.
As statistics show, many already marginalized populations experience high rates of illiteracy, including women, low-income individuals and those living in developing nations. One of our goals is to improve literacy rates by teaching reading and writing courses. We also aim to fund schools with resources that they may lack.
Set up mentorship programs for youth across the globe. Connecting members of our team to others around the world.
We will also focus on Agricultural Education which is the teaching of agriculture, natural resources, and land management through hands on experience and guidance to prepare students and community members for entry level jobs or to further education in order to prepare them for advanced agricultural jobs.
- Improve literacy rates
- Build and fund schools in areas where proper educational facilities are not present or are under-resourced
- Decrease child dropout rates especially amongst girls
- Mentor/sponsor local youth who are active in the community, encourage them to further their education and return as an asset to their communities
- Promote tertiary education and provide sources and contacts to make it achievable
