Afro-Philanthropic Conference to be held by Global United Diaspora in Accra this August.

Global United Diaspora (GUD) is heading to Accra on August 6th, 2019 to host ‘The Returning to One Afro-Philanthropic Conference, a one-day event within the HACSA Summit.’ The aim of the conference is to connect non-profit organizations, philanthropist, innovators and tech leaders from across Africa and the global African diaspora to unify, collaborate, and share resources. The conference will serve as a catalyst for upliftment of impoverished and under-resourced communities; focusing on finding innovative solutions for improving healthcare, education, disaster relief, STEM, infrastructure, environment and gender equality amongst other things.

NMJ Ghana, the local organizing agency partnered with GUD to bring this conference to fruition. In addition to the conference GUD, NMJ Ghana and volunteers will execute the following service projects around Ghana - Medical Outreach in Rural Communities around Accra including:
• Enrolling low-income people for Health Insurance
• General Wellbeing Check Ups
• Informational Health Workshops
• Breast Cancer Screening
• Colon Cancer Screening
Youth Empowerment/Sports Camps in Accra focused on:
• Mental Health and Wellbeing
• Reproductive and Physical Health
• Life skills and Goal Planning
• Leadership and Empowerment
Overall Beautification of Local Orphanage in Volta Region
• Painting, Repairing broken window, doors, desk, beds
​• Landscaping, paving walkway

We aim to change the face of philanthropy by bringing together black and African led NGOs, philanthropist and innovators from the wider diaspora to inspire collaboration, implement solutions and increase innovation to become more impactful in our global communities. We also want to highlight the meaningful work that these organizations and individuals have done and show the world that we all are capable of truly improving the lives of our people.
