We aim to change the face of philanthropy by bringing together black and African led NGOs, philanthropist and innovators from the wider diaspora to inspire collaboration, implement solutions and increase innovation to become more impactful in our global communities. We also want to highlight the meaningful work that these organizations and individuals have done and show the world that we all are capable of truly improving the lives of our people.
This past spring, Two GUD founders Nia and Keron, headed to Dominica to assist in hurricane relief reconstruction efforts. They conneceted with designers, engineers and local officials to come up with solutions for sustainable aresilienhousing, agriculture, and a multitude of other community concerns.
Dominica is a mountainous Caribbean island nation with natural hot springs and tropical rainforests. It is often known as "The Nature Island of the Caribbean" due to its spectacular, lush, and varied flora and fauna.
Dominica was the last of the Caribbean islands to be colonised by Europeans, due chiefly to the fierce resistance of the native Caribs.
