International Day of Charity
International Day of Charity is coming up and we are going to celebrate as appropriately as possible...by doing charity work! The Service Projects Committee is officially challenging you to the #GUDDeedsChallenge! Over the next 7 days we want you to do and record at least one random act of kindness and DM @GlobalUDiaspora with the video/pic. We will be posting all of our acts and ask that you repost and challenge 3 friends to do the same on Sept 5. One example of a #GUDDeedsChallenge is to support GUD! We pride ourselves on being agents of change and donations from our GUD supporters help us do just that!
Global United Diaspora is responding to the urgent COVID-19 relief needs by providing aid across our global communities. We have been providing support to homeless shelters and encampments in order to boost their capacity to serve their residents through our care bags campaign. Across Africa, we have sent several donations to provide food and rent for vulnerable families most effected in Liberia, Ghana, and Kenya. We were able to help 21 different families based on the donations from GUD supporters like yourself. So Let’s band together and participate in the #GUDDeedsChallenge and make International Day of Charity be the best it can be.

We just wanted to reach out to all our supporters to share the exciting news that, thanks to you, our #GivingTuesday Covid-19 relief campaign was a total success!
We aimed for a goal of $1000 for the day and competed with $1145!
Thanks to the goodwill of all who contributed, we've been able to organize a powerful response to this Global Pandemic. The funds we raised allowed us to support hungry families in Liberia, Ghana and Kenya amid the challenges that accompany this crisis and will soon be providing food supplies and other necessities to people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in the US.

In the US we are focusing on providing support to homeless shelters in order to boost their capacity to serve their residents. Across Africa we will be sending a portion of the donations to provide food or vulnerable families most effected in Liberia, Ghana and Kenya. Donations are still being accepted to support this cause.

Quarantine Letters for the Seniors
GUD is inviting you to join us in composing #QuarantineLetters. Due to the high risk for the COVID-19 coronavirus infection across the world, elder/senior citizens have been isolated to be cut off from physical interactions with friends, family, and loved ones. GUD is aiming help the elders feel loved by inviting you and others across the globe to send letters that can be passed along to seniors living away from their families especially at nursing homes.
